It could look like any of these images. It could look completely different. It could look like a perfectly happy person. It could look like someone who is successful, or someone who seems to have it all. Maybe they do have it all. Maybe they don't have anything to be depressed about. But they are depressed anyway. Depression is a terrible condition to live with. It's a sickness. An invisible sickness. It eats away at you making you feel like nothing is important. You're not important. Life itself does not matter anymore and it would just be easier if you got hit by a car. It completely nums you. It has nothing to do with a choice you make, how bad you have it, or the people around you. It just is. I was lucky that I found someone whom I trusted who helped me to turn it around. For me it was medication. For others it might be something else. But if you deal with depression, please don't just go through the motions of each day. Please, find someone you can trust and get the help that you need and deserve. It's nothing to be embarrassed about.
